Hello again!

I'm going to do 1860s dress which can be used in reenactment or in historical camp. I would like to have cuite small crinoline, and plain dress. Where did you took pattern to your hoops?

I have made 18th century dresses and some 1870-90s clothes, but 1860s is new for me.

Probably I'm going to order few "Past patterns".

Sorry about my bad english, and regards from Finland!

Hello again Lady E.!
I ordered my hoop already made from Timless Stitches here: http://www.tstitches.com/store/underpinningspg2.htm

But I would love to make one one day. I think Past Patterns should be a good place to start. That is probably who I would order a pattern from for a hoop. They also make my favorite 1860's dress pattern here: http://www.pastpatterns.com/702.html

Any more questions feel free to ask! I did Civil War reenacting for awhile so I have a few resources. :)
Thanks for stopping by and best of luck with your sewing adventures!

Hello!

I'm making my first crinoline, I took patterns from Jean Hunnisett: Period Costume for Stage & Screen, patterns for womens dress 1800-1909. Its maybe not period correct, but I want to do something before I got pattersn from Past patterns.
Have you used truly victorian patterns? Do you know truly victorian bulletinboard?

Hello again. :)
How exciting! I'd love to make my own crinoline one of these days.
I haven't used many of Truly Victorian's patterns yet. I'd love to try some because they're just beautiful!
I hadn't ever been on their bulletin board before...thanks for pointing it out!
I also love visiting the Sense and Sensibility forum www.sensibility.com
There are a ton of ladies on there with a wealth of information!
I'm so excited for your sewing adventures. Do you have a blog? Would love to see pictures of your work. :)

Jiihaa!

I found today very cheap silk, it was about 5 euros/meter, so I bough it 5 meters.
First fabric is silk, second cotton, and last one is printed cottonpoplin.

Oh, your work is beautiful Lady E! I wish I could understand Finish, but the pictures were wonderful to look at anyway. :)
Your crinoline is amazing. I'm so inspired to try making one now. :)
And that's such a great price for silk! Your dress is looking wonderful! How exciting!

Hello!

How much you put fabric to your skirt? Fabric length and wide? Was wide 45" or 60". My fabrics are 60". So how wide skirt should be?

Lady E.

Anna Kristine said...

Hello!
My fabric was 45" wide so I did 4 panels to make it 180" total. If your fabric is 60" then you would only need to do 3 panels.
As to the length, measure from the waist of your crinoline to the floor (or however far you want your hem to come down) and then add enough to your measurement for a hem.
Any more questions, feel free to ask! :)

Ok.
I thought 4,5 meter wide skirt should be fine.

But now I want to do new corset, so I try to do this http://haabet.dk/patent/39964/index.html

Hey, I love your dresses, and a while ago I purchased the green tea dress. I am in love with Mina's red dinner dress (from Bram Stoker's Dracula). I was wondering, would you be able to make that? And, if so, what do you think you might charge? Thank you so much! My email is adt12@aol.com.
