Maid Marian Gown

This dress is inspired by the gown worn by Lucy Griffiths as Maid Marian in the BBC television series Robin Hood.
I created the sleeve lining fabric by machine embroidering the fabric and tea dying it to give it a more unique authentic look. You can see more about this process here.

The collar is all hand beaded.

The gown laces up the back with a red leather cord and all the eyelets are hand sewn.

This gown is now available in my Etsy shop here!

Georgiana Darcy Regency Gown

“Is Miss Darcy much grown since the spring?” said Miss Bingley; “will she be as tall as I am?”

“I think she will. She is now about Miss Elizabeth Bennet’s height, or rather taller.”

“How I long to see her again! I never met with anybody who delighted me so much. Such a countenance, such manners! and so extremely accomplished for her age! Her performance on the pianoforte is exquisite.”
~Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen

This dress reminded me of Georgiana Darcy since it's so soft and light. It's made of a sturdy 100% cotton fabric and although it is machine sewn all the seams are flat felled by hand so there's not a machine stitch to be seen! The hem is done by hand as well.

The long sleeves button on and off so it can be a short sleeve or long sleeve dress!
Fastens up the back with buttons made of shell:

Cornwall Grey Plaid Wool Coat

I've finally got pictures of this coat I made awhile back. I made it out of a wool blanket and vintage buttons from my great grandmother. Lining is leftover fabric from the Jane Bennet Jacket.

It's now available in the SHOP. :)

Jane Bingley Jacket

I recently finished this Jane Bennet inspired jacket for a lovely customer. After it was done I renamed it the Jane Bingley jacket because the color reminded me of Bingley's coat. ;)
It's made of 100% linen and fully lined.

Covered buttons give the garment a soft look:
Hand top stitching adds a handmade quality.

Full front view: (you can see the pink lining she chose)
Full back view:
It was a fun project. I just love working with linen!

Lady Gisborne Leather Necklace

Although I didn't get any gowns done for Maid Marian Fashion Weekend I did get this necklace made which is inspired by...well, the bad guy actually. But he was a big part of Marian's life, if you remember. :)
I was inspired by Guy of Gisborne's taste in fashion (lots of black leather) and what he might have picked out for the love of his life.

Guy seems to have a thing for leather...this lightweight leather cord is perfect to go with Marian's style. (Don't worry...Robin Hood is still first in her heart) And the blue stone and silver ringed charm add a bit of medieval elegance.
