Pirate Shirt

A pirate shirt I made using Simplicity pattern 4923. I sewed the shirt completely by hand using my favorite, 100% cotton gutermann thread. I made it for my dad to wear, along with the rest of the costume I made him, to opening night of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.

Your Pirate costumes look great! May I ask what sizes you used for the Simplicity patterns?

I think this shirt was an extra large but I've made all different sizes!

Will you tell me the adjustments you made on the vest and shirt? Thanks, and by the way, the pirate costumes are great!

It's been awhile since I made these so I can't remember for sure but I don't think I made any adjustments. I think I made them as the pattern showed. On my vest (I used a different pattern) I did add the tabs with lacing in the back to make at more like Elizabeth Swann's. :)

thanks so much! Heh sorry if im being a pest (XD) but...1 more question! W/ out the tabs and lacing, does the vest look...um....not-tight? Oh...sorry actually 2 more! On the pattern, where the buttons end the bottom of the vest goes out (almost a right angle) but yours goes straight down...did you change that part?

No worries! I enjoy the questions! For the vest I used Butterick 3072 (a different pattern than the shirt) and the tabs did make it more fitted but you don't necessarily need them I just wanted it to be more like Elizabeth Swann's. So I didn't change anything other than the tabs on that pattern.
If you have any other questions feel free to ask!
